JOURNAL

January 6th, 2007.

Ok, so another year has passed... and yeah. I haven't done too much - musically that is - but a lot has happened. I've gotten myself a new job - as a travel agent at the Flight Centre, I've travelled a bit - spent a couple weeks in Panama, been working on some creative projects - a zine, some 3D art and some photography... and yeah. All is well in Ricker-land.

I've been inspired lately, due to the poor weather, to stay in and spend more time being creative. It is my every intention to write some new material this winter and to record. I really really really want to start a band, me and my partner in crime are talking about it... but we need more. Hopefully something will come my way - we shall see. I would really like to have a band with me singing and playing guitar - and have some synthesized drums and keyboards and backup stuff that I do on the computer - but I'm not good enough at that stuff yet. I've been playing around a bit with Fruity Loops which can be a lot of fun - but there's still a long way to go.

I'm hoping to do another photoshoot soon - which will inevitably inspire a new webpage, but I'm still pretty happy with this one.

Thanks to those of you who still take the time to check up on me. I am happy as can be. Working hard, playing hard... and of course - as always, loving hard. I have a wonderful partner in crime who keeps me afloat, sane and stable :) Check back cause I hope to be updating this thing more often.

July 6th, 2006.

Ok, I know, I know - it's been a while. I get all into my website, then I forget all about it or get distracted and don't get around to updating it... Well I'm back. Things are great. (It's summer time, how can they not be great?)

Here's what's new. I've been working on some new music... I've got over my electric guitar and am actually looking to sell it or trade it in as it is of no use to me. My acoustic broke for a bit but I managed to get it repaired, it was only the pick up. I'm hoping that I will be spending this winter hidden away in my living room writing and recording a new album which I'd love to think will be out by next Spring. I'll try and put up a clip of my newest song in the very near future.

I'm looking forwards to a 2 week vacation coming up in the beginning of August. So exciting. My girlfriend and I are gonna book a last minute deal and go veg out on the beach someday.
Been working out, riding my bike to work and trying to get into shape for the big trip.

Discovered some great new music - like Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah and Wolf Parade (well one song by them.)

Excited for this whole soccer thing to end - while it has been fun and 'festive'... I am excited to have a full nights sleep without the blaring of horns waking me up every 5 minutes. (Figures I live in Portugal and Italy central!)

My next show is at my highschool reunion that I'm really excited about. Should be fun to reunite with old friends, and play with some fellow musicians. My school is full of 'famous' people. lol. I guess that's what happens when you go to an art school. I'll be playing with a band called the Germans which my friend from grade 2 on, Jesse Foster plays in, we actually learnt how to play the guitar together, so it'll be nice to play a show with him.

That's it for now. I'll try to keep more up to date. And in the meantime, you can always email!

March 8. 2006.

So I finally got off my ass and designed myself a website. As you can see it was all based around my little venture to Niagara Falls. Here's all I have to say about that:
(I'm just copying my friendster profile because I'm lazy.)

i love niagara falls. i love that my bestfriend is a photographer. i love pretending that i'm a rock star and taking pictures all over the trashy city and along the strip and having tourists stop and take pictures of me as well. i love it when people ask for my autograph on brown paper bags. i love being honked at. i love it when police officers stop to ask if there's anything they can do to assist in the photoshoot. i love that my pictures depict nothing of my music. i love pretending that i'm something i'm not. i love wearing fur (sorry dear)... my trip to niagara falls was so much fun. way too much fun. i think i'm gonna move there and become a taxidermist.

I'm going to try and keep on top of this section - but as you may know from my previous site - I get really lazy and these entries are often few and far in between. But hopefully I'll be inspired and keep it up to date. I'm good. I'm happy. I'm working hard on school, and at work, and mostly on my music and my drawing/painting/graphic/web design. Check out my arts & design section to keep up with that side of me!
